REPowerEU measures in national recovery plans: Press briefing after plenary vote

On Thursday 10 November, EP President Metsola and the co-rapporteurs for the REPowerEU chapters in recovery and resilience plans will hold a press conference at around 11.30.

Roberta Metsola and the co-rapporteurs from the Budget and the Economic and Monetary Affairs committees Siegfried MUREŞAN (EPP, RO), Eider GARDIAZABAL RUBIAL (S&D, ES) and Dragoș PÎSLARU (Renew, RO) will present the outcome of the plenary vote, which constitutes Parliament’s negotiating position for upcoming talks with EU governments, and answer journalists’ questions.

When: Thursday 10 November, after the votes at around 11.30

Where: European Parliament in Brussels, Anna Politkovskaya press conference room (0A50), Spaak building, with physical and remote participation.

Interpretation will be available in the following languages: English, French, Spanish and Romanian.

Background

In May 2022, the Commission put forward a proposal to make the Recovery and Resilience Facility the main funding vehicle of the RePowerEU plan (the “REPowerEU amendment proposal”). EU countries that submit an amended recovery and resilience plan after the entry into force of this proposal would be required to include measures to save energy, produce clean energy and diversify energy supplies, as foreseen in the plan.
